■ ふるさとの橋物語り

松尾のシンボル的な存在の岩や戸発電所と橋・・・



幼少のころから見慣れた風景ながら・・・
数々の思い出が詰まったこの風景を散策してみました



百万円道路開設について椎葉村史をめくってみると・・・
県道開設で和田から開設が進んで、この区間は昭和7年2月から岩や戸―下椎葉間が着手されたと記されています




橋の門柱には昭和8年竣工とありました
昭和11年生まれの山仙人が生まれる前に建設されたものです。
当時の設計としては斬新なデザインの橋が90年の歳月を耐えて・・・
今もそのままの威容です


当時の水力発電ブームに乗って耳川の川下から道路開設に合わせるように西郷発電所―塚原発電所―岩や戸発電所と建設されてきました



岩や戸発電所の建設は昭和13年から17年1月に完成したと記されています
当初の発電量は２５０００キロワット・・　
後に増築されて現在は５００００キロワットとか



岩や戸発電所には数え切れないほどの思い出やエピソードがあります
小学校低学年のころ　建設当初は人手による人海操業で地元の人たちが多く就業していたので　その子弟たちは自由に発電所の中に入り込んで遊んだものでした



地場産業のシイタケが最盛期のころは　発電所の地下のタービン室にかるい込んで,
タービンが回転する時の風を利用してシイタケを乾燥させることまでやっていた記憶があります
そのシイタケを職員の人たちが電熱コンロ(当時はそう言っていた)の上で焼いて塩をつけて食べていたものでした
また　当時は地元へのサービスとして発電所の裏の倉庫に精米機を設置していたので
集落の人たちはみんな精米に行ったものでした
中学生から青年期には　発電所の中庭で時たまに芝居や映画があって唯一の娯楽で
地域に密着した存在でした
が・・・現在は無人化されて頑丈な策に囲まれていて・・・
柵の外からのぞいては昔を懐かしんでいます


道路開設から発電所建設で当時は郵便局から警察駐在所各種商店などが立ち並んでいてにぎわったものでしたが・・・


2011年にバイパスが開通したことで寂しい商店街になってしまいました
