■ 　夏から秋へ・・・

お盆の送り鐘楼も終わって気持ちの上でも一区切りつくのがこの季節です



９月に入って少しは涼風を感じるようになって・・・



棚田の稲穂が日々伸びて頭を下げていくさまを眺めながら・・・


朝露に濡れながらの土手草刈りもはかどります



そんな平凡な日々を過ごしているところに・・・

「台風９号襲来」　の情報です
「過去に経験したことのない大型台風」の情報に戦々恐々・・・



家屋周辺の補強は何とかできても・・・　

稲は全面倒伏か・・と気をもんでいたけれど・・・



通過してみれば・・・　被害は想像ほどにはなかったのでホッ



雨の多い台風で岩屋戸堰堤も上椎葉のダムも全面放水でした





痛ましい人身災害まで発生してしまいました

心からお見舞い　　お悔やみ申し上げます






そして１９日から４連休です

今年の稲刈りは例年よりも１０日ちかく早い刈り取りになりました


少しは青田刈りになったけれど・・・

連休ボランティアを当て込んで刈ることにしました



南阿蘇や熊本市内からと・・・

　さらには棚田の写真を撮りに来たカメラマンまで加勢してくれて・・・



６年生と５年生の孫たちも結構貴重な労働力になりました






と・・・　バインダーで刈り取っていったあとにマムシがとぐろを巻いて・・・



かま首を持ち上げて攻撃寸前でした



以前のようにカマで刈り取りをしていたら・・・　と思うと　　冷や汗でした



３時の休憩も話題百出で・・・



作業が終わって・・・　　疲れた中にも大仕事をなし終えて・・・

満足げな笑顔がはじけます



こうして刈り取りは終わったけれど・・・

これから半月ほど自然乾燥をして・・・脱穀をして・・・

精米をして食卓に登るまでにはもうしばらくかかりそうです

「だから松尾の棚田のお米は美味しい・・・」　と言われる所以かもしれません
